Lunch at Michelin 1 Star Trishna London What a treat to return to one of our favorite Indian restaurants in a city with some of the best Indian restaurants in the world. Amazing Duck Chutney Seekh and Shahi Salmon Tikka...
Into the city and lunch at Michelin star Trishna London   After dumping our bags at Left Luggage, we headed for Heathrow Express and the quick trip to Paddington.
Our one night London strategy is to pick a show and Amex FHR hotel within walking distance of each other, so as to not waste time with taxis and traffic.   The Savoy entertainment complex was ideal.  Hotel, show and resto in the same complex.
After relaxing a couple of hours in our Rick Stein room, we headed down to the main Rick Stein building and Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant.   You get picture.  LOL.
Our driver/guide Tim, owner of Tour Cornwall, picked us up at 9:30am and we headed out for our day of sightseeing.  Passing thru Truro, the capital of Cornwall County. Past RNAS Culdrose...
Our guide for our visit met us at the airport and dropped us off at our hotel in nearby Padstow, a quaint seaside town.  Padstow's most famous resident is chef/entrepreneur Rick Stein who's been a food and travel star on British TV for years.  Rick owns numerous restaurants, hotels and shops in Padstow as well as a cooking school.  We're staying at his 6 room St. Edmund's House which is located just up the street from the restaurant, which also has rooms.  Indeed, we checked in for our room at the front desk of the restaurant.
We arrived on time at Terminal 3 and despite using a gate with multiple jet bridges, cheap AA only used 2L which meant a long time before we got off the plane.   And then the long, long walk. Our Blacklane driver was waiting for us and we were on the A4 a few minutes later.
With no Mrs. SFO777 to worry about, I decided to take the Heathrow Express into the city.  OK, this extraordinarily convenient and efficient… 15 minutes nonstop to Paddington Station. Plus free Wifi on board.  This is the way to get into the city.  There were numerous Heathrow Express point of sale stations along the way and I bought a round trip First Class ticket for 32 quid.   Finding the Heathrow Express was easy.  Just follow the signs.
