Park Hyatt Dubai

While I love the Emirates First Class Lounges in Dubai, an 11 hour connection is too long even for me. LOL. So I used my Hyatt points to book a room and relax at the nearby Park Hyatt Dubai on Dubai Creek, a beautiful hotel with numerous bars and restaurants. My stay was even nicer as I received a wonderful Globalist updgrade to a stunning suite.

Sweet Globalist upgrade to gorgeous suite.

Nice view from the balcony.  Too bad it was 104F/39C.  Yikes.

Nice in suite gift.

Time for a drink.

Beautiful nightime view.

Emirates First Class Lounge Dubai A concourse

Heading home! Back at DXB after a relaxing stay at the Park Hyatt.

Since my DFW flight departed from the B concourse, I decided to try the newly renovated B concourse lounge.

OK, not sure what the purpose of the renovation was as not much has changed except a new pizza oven.

And a major red flag as wines are now behind the counter and in a vending machine type dispenser.   Still some nice wines but I had to ask to see what was available.

After only 5 minutes, back to the much nicer A concourse First Class Lounge.

A First Class Lounge so big, you need a map.

Time for a midnight dinner.

More fabulous wines...

Outstanding pan seared Hokkaido scallops

And the always fabulous Wagyu tenderloin.

Emirates First Class Dubai to DFW

After a lovely meal and more great wines, I headed over to the B concourse for my 16 hour flight to DFW. Another wonderful Emirates First flight with outstanding service, food and wine.

Oh yeah!

OMG, and more amazing wines after departure.

Today's menu...

Showtime!

Heirloom tomato salad.

OMG!

Amazing cheese plate.

Why not? LOL.

One more before bedtime,

Seven hours later...

Delicious poached lobster tail and masala prawns.

Yummy Lamb Biryani.

Dallas to Denver

I was originally booked on the 12:30pm DFW-DEN AA flght.  But once in flight, I made the mistake of believing flighty and flightradar24... that we would arrive 20 minutes early or around 9:30am.  So I switched to the 10:31am AA flight.   Later on it became clear that we were not going to be early and that it would really tight to make clear CBP, security and get to my AA gate in time.  A rookie jetbridge operator made things even worse as it took a while and the door finally opened at 10:15am giving me 16 minutes if that.   Amazingly I made it thru CBP, security and the long haul to D38 in just 14 minutes.  Unfortunately, my 10:31am AA flight had already closed and the jetbridge pulled back from the plane.

With the 12:30pm AA flight now sold out in First, I booked an Economy exit row back-up on the 11:35am United flight.

Sadly, no chance of an upgrade today.

Not First, but great legroom for the short 90 minute flight.

United does an impressive job of recognizing milestones but today was really over and above.  Despite having booked the flight less than an hour ago, the lead FA stopped by, thanked me for my loyalty and presented me with this hand-written note at my seat.
