Dinner at Salsify at the Roundhouse
After my afternoon Antarctica safety briefing and a nap, it’s over to Camps Bay for dinner and another of my Cape Town favorites, Salsify at the Roundhouse. Stunning mountain top setting with a stunning view of the the Twelve Apostles and the coast. What an outstanding tasting menu with wonderful wine pairing.
Welcome drink and amuse bouche.
Cape Town's V&A Waterfront and Lunch at Marble - Cape Town
For lunch today, I’m off to Cape Town’s gorgeous V&A Waterfront, home to an array of tourist friendly shops, hotels, restaurants and entertainment attractions. And so excited to try the new Marble Cape Town, the newest outpost of impressivr Marble Joburg which I enjoyed three years ago.
Another beautiful day in Cape Town and this morning we are off for a private helicopter flight of the Cape Peninsula including Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. A Cape Town Helicopters shuttle bus picked us up and the hotel and dropped us off at the Waterfront helipad office a few minutes later.
After a brief safety video, we were escorted to our beautiful Bell JetRanger and met our pilot Elle.
Our guide Dave met us just before 8AM and we headed out to make sure we got good seats on the 1st ferry of the day to Robben Island, the former maximum security prison, where Nelson Mandela spent many years. A little overcast at first this morning, but the clouds quickly dissipated.
