Dinner at Michelin Star Seroja Singapore

What a wonderful final Singapore dinner tonight at Michelin star Seroja. Chef owner Kevin Wong and his team celebrate flavours of his native Malaysia with exceptional food and creative presentations in an elegant setting atmosphere. Only 2 years old, Seroja is already ranked #31 in Asia in the World’s 50 Best restaurant ranking.

Small Bites...

Fish floss with raita and mint.

Seaconch marinated in fermented shrimp dressing in pietee.

Tuna with ginger kerabu and caviar.

Local organic vegetables dressed in mustard oil and peanut.

Mangrove wood charred scallop with laksa leaf sauce.

Roti paung with johorean mile butter.  OMG.

Stuffed chicken wing.

Line caught pomfret, prawn dumpling with sambal gulai.

Betel leaf noodle with smoke eggplant paste.

BBQ duck percik with crispy traders rice and lauk pauk.

Tropical herb sorbet, tapai and bandung.

Paneer cheesecake with seasonal yellow tropical fruits.

And to finish, Borneo raw sugar bahulu, "milo dinosaur".

Bravo Chef Kevin and team for a delightful culinary experience in a beautiful setting.

Emirates First Class to Dubai

After a post-dinner (afternoon back home) nap at the Andaz, I headed to Changi around 11pm.  So excited to be spending some 27 hours with Emirates on my way home from Singapore. First up is Emirates’ "short” 7 hour 77W Singapore-Dubai red-eye. Wonderful in flight service, excellent food and some marvelous wines.

Once in the air, the good stuff.

OMG, what a spectacular Ermitage.

Since I wasn't really hungry, I sampled the fabulous wines and enjoyed some nibbles.

Duck salad.

Wow, amazing Saint-Emilion.

Wagyu sliders.

I moved to an empty suite for a couple of hours of sleep.

And then back to my 2K for arrival.

Emirates First Class Lounge A at Dubai

As I stepped off the plane in the A gate concourse, I was met by an Emirates First Class representative, who escorted me down an escalator to the front of security and then by elevator upstairs to the massive A gate concourse First Class Lounge. The stars aligned today as both my arriving Singapore flight and my departing Houston flight operated from the A gate concourse.

As always I made the rounds of the multiple bars and restaurants to check out the wine selection.

I enjoyed a pair of gorgeous and insanely extravagant Burgundies over an enjoyable breakfast.

Nice idea.

Absolutely no idea what this is, but they were all roped off.

Comfy looking, whatever they are.

The off to the lounge area near my departure gate... A4.

Emirates First Class Dubai to Houston

My favorite Emirates flights are usually the longest and today’s Dubai-Houston A380 is one of the longest nonstops in the world… at 8,339 miles. At nearly 16 hours, it is the perfect flight time to relax, eat, drink and sleep. Wonderful in flight service, excellent food and some marvelous wines.

Total stupid and useless third security check on US bound flights.

My home for the next 16 hours.

Once in the air, time to sample the amazing Emirates wine list.

Today's menu...

And wine list...

Showtime, Emirates First style.

Wow oh wow, amazing 2012 Opus One.

Yummy mixed grill.

After 7 hours of sleep, time to visit the lounge... for a drink.

And then a shower in the best lav in the skies...

And then round two...

Poached lobster tails served with pea purée and buttered linguine with chives.  Delicious.

Welcome to Houston, one the ugliest and most poorly designed airport in the country.

Talk about a let down... United home to Denver.

What a great trip.  Thanks for following along.
